Rick Perry calls his energy plan "Drill, Baby, Drill," but we call it "Pollute, Baby, Pollute." It would continue to let mercury and other life-threatening toxins flow from industrial incinerators, coal-fired power plants and cement factories, and strip the EPA of its authority to regulate pollution. It’s bad for our health, bad for our air and water, and bad for our economy.

I'm writing to urge you to reject all legislation that would enact the failed policies and dangerous ideas proposed in Gov. Rick Perry's "Drill, Baby, Drill" energy plan. The plan was bad when Sarah Palin proposed it. Gov. Perry made it even worse!

The NRDC Action Fund calls Gov. Perry's strategy the "Pollute, Baby, Pollute," plan, and I couldn't agree more. Gov. Perry's proposal to gut the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is absurd. The EPA protects my family's health!

I strongly support stronger public safeguards that reduce toxic mercury emissions from power plants and cement plants -- yet Gov. Perry wants them stopped because he says they will hurt the economy.

With all due respect, Gov. Perry is wrong. People, not profits, should always be our first priority. We're drilling at record levels already and the oil companies are making record profits. Enough!

I want public investment in clean energy. I want to see America innovate again, not drill and pollute again. Don't stand up for polluters. Stand up for us!

There's nothing in Gov. Perry's plan that will give us the prosperity or security we need. Join me in saying an emphatic "No!" to the ideas in his energy plan -- they have no place in our economy recovery.
