Washington – Nine incumbent Senate candidates today earned the endorsement of the NRDC Action Fund, a national organization working to build political support for protecting the planet and its people. The senators are running for re-election in 2018 and are outspoken champions of Americans’ health and environment.
“Since the day President Trump took office, these senators have redoubled their commitment to protecting our health and environment. Building on their record, they have exposed and stood strong against the administration’s assault on our health and environment,” said Kevin Curtis, Executive Director of the NRDC Action Fund. “A clean and safe environment for current and future generations is a shared American value, and we’re proud to stand with senators who will continue fighting for climate action and clean energy jobs, for clean air, and clean water – for all of us.”
The incumbent Senate candidates receiving NRDC Action Fund endorsements today are: Sens. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), Tom Carper (D-Del.), Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ben Cardin (D-Md.), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), and Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.).
