WASHINGTON (March 7, 2024) – In his state-of-the-union address tonight, President Biden stressed the critical role his climate agenda has played in driving the heartland manufacturing renaissance at the core of a record-breaking American jobs boom.
Manish Bapna, president and CEO of the NRDC Action Fund, made the following statement:
“The president spotlighted a record of unprecedented climate achievement, charted the way to build on those gains and made an unassailable case for four more years to finish the job.
“Biden has led with a clear vision for confronting the climate crisis. He’s delivered the strongest climate action yet. He’s done it in a way that’s cutting costs for our families, creating jobs in red states and blue, and strengthening the supply chain for the building blocks of a modern economy.
“His opponent would throw hard-won climate progress into reverse, anchor our future to the fuels of the past and squander U.S. climate leadership in the moment it’s needed most, condemning our children to a world of runaway climate disaster and ruin.
“We can’t allow that to happen.
“Joe Biden has been the strongest climate president in history. He’s earned our support – and he’ll have it.”
