NRDC Action Votes and LCV Victory Fund Launch New GiveGreen Donor Platform Amid Record-Breaking Cycle

WASHINGTON (June 20, 2024) – LCV Victory Fund and NRDC Action Votes today announced the launch of a new online donor platform to power its record-breaking pace of donations this year through GiveGreen, the political fundraising program aimed at electing pro-environment candidates to public office. Donors have contributed a record $36 million to candidates through GiveGreen in the current political cycle, far outpacing the program’s performance in 2020 and 2022.

The new GiveGreen website introduces the ability for climate and environment-minded political donors to create their own candidate slates and fundraising events, set up recurring donations, and filter candidates by numerous categories including competitiveness of their races and top policy issues. The new GiveGreen website includes new branding with a new logo, updated content on candidate and strategy pages, and updates to donor dashboards with easy-to-access giving information.

The GiveGreen program is jointly managed by LCV Victory Fund and NRDC Action Votes, with over 50,000 donors who have made the platform a centerpiece of the environmental movement’s growing political clout.

“Climate donors have already set the pace for GiveGreen to raise more dollars for candidates than ever before, and we’re thrilled to add even more capabilities for members to easily share ways to support climate champions with their friends and family,” said Gene Karpinski, president of LCV Victory Fund. “GiveGreen donors understand the urgency of the climate crisis and extreme weather in our communities and are showing their strong support of climate champions who will fight to protect our communities, clean air and water, our public lands, and future generations.”

“The growth of GiveGreen parallels the rise of climate as a potent political issue, and I don’t think that’s just a coincidence,” said Kevin S. Curtis, NRDC Action Votes executive director. “Now this expanded platform will give more political donors even more tools to send an unmistakable message to candidates that climate action is a winning issue, and that we’ve got their backs.”

Since its inception in the 2010 electoral cycle, GiveGreen donors have raised nearly $150 million to help elect more than 1,200 pro-environment candidates listed on the platform.
